Katy Perry Loved the MTV Video Music Awards

Arriving for the annual Venice Film Festival, Evan Rachel Wood was spotted in Venice, Italy on Tuesday (August 30).

The “True Blood” actress looked trendy in red pants paired with a black and white blazer as she hopped onto an awaiting water taxi.

Ms Wood is in town to help her good looking co-stars George Clooney and Ryan Gosling promote their latest flick, “The Ides of March.”

A brand new trailer featuring an awkward exchange between an intern named Molly (played by Wood) and a Presidential candidate speechwriter (played by Gosling) was just released - with the film set to hit US theaters on October 7th.

She’s no stranger to magazine covers, and Katie Holmes scored the front of Elle Russia's September issue.

The “Dawson’s Creek” darling looks tres chic in her photo spread, thanks to longtime stylist Jeanne Yang’s artful eye.

And of course, Katie is donning looks from the MaxMara collection, the same label who named her the “Face of the Future.”

In career news, Katie’s latest film “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” had a strong opening weekend, placing third in box office numbers overall.

After his marriage with LeAnn Rimes quickly fizzled in 2009, Dean Sheremet has settled down into another go at wedded bliss with a woman named Sarah Silver.

The dancer-turned chef posted a video of the newlyweds stepping out of a City Clerk’s office in New York City wearing a gray suit with no tie while his photographer bride sported a one-shoulder red dress, holding a bouquet of flowers.

"Happy happy day," the blog post reads.

Meanwhile, Silver is seen holding a camera in another entry reading, "Taking photos at her own wedding! She can't help herself."

The couple became engaged in November 2010.

Not many women have the guts to sport an all-natural look in public, but Jada Pinkett Smith rocked a makeupless face and product free hairdo out in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday (August 30).

The “Reign Over Me” mama sported a casual ensemble as she walked along with a group of her friends while the paparazzi looked on.

In recent news, the mill exploded with rumors last week that Jada and husband Will Smith were splitting up after she was unfaithful with Jennifer Lopez’s ex-hubby Marc Anthony.

Reps for both Jada and Will have denied the outrageous claims and the couple released a statement last week stating, “The rumors about our relationship are completely false. We’re still together and our marriage in intact.”

Gleeks all over the world are rabid for the September 20th season premiere, and some of the stars have shared their thoughts on the upcoming Season 3.

Amber Riley told press, “Being on Glee has been an amazing experience for me. I’ve loved every moment of it. I get to come on set with all my friends and sing songs that we’ve been listening to since we were kids or on the radio right now.”

Meanwhile, Chris Colfer sounds like he missed the day-to-day people on the set. “Our crew. I really wish we could’ve taken our crew on tour with us. The makeup ladies, the hair people … aka, therapy.”

And Cory Monteith added, “Season three feels very back to basics. It feels like it’s all about core characters rather than like a tribute episode.”

Still glowing from her recent nuptials, Kim Kardashian joined sister Kourtney while out in New York City on Tuesday (August 30).

The reality TV star sisters both looked colorful and cute with Kim in a red dress while Kourt sported white shorts and a yellow top as the E! cameras rolled for the first day of taping season two of “Kourtney and Kim Take New York.”

In related news, the new cast of “Dancing With the Stars” was announced last night and Mr Rob Kardashian is set to partake in the popular dance competition show.

An excited Kim tweeted, “So excited my bro @RobKardashian is gonna be on Dancing With the Stars! Good luck Robbie! I just hope u do better than me...not too hard!LOL”

Kim also spoke with MTV about Beyonce revealing her pregnancy at the MTV VMAs, as she said, "Beyoncé is definitely my highlight. I adore her anyway, but it was so sweet. I thought it was really cool of her to come out and show that at the VMAs, 'cause music is her outlet. She could have done it with any magazine or news station, but she chose her home. I thought it was really cool."

Getting a lift from a studio staff member, Jennifer Aniston was spotted cruising around on a golf cart on a Los Angeles, CA studio set on Tuesday (August 30).

With her hair swept back in a bun, the “Love Happens” hottie sported an all-black ensemble and sipped on a cup of coffee as she held on tight during the ride.

As previously reported by GossipCenter, Aniston and boyfriend Justin Theroux are temporarily renting a place together while they search for a home.

According to People Magazine, the rented-house is a picturesque two-bedroom in the Hollywood Hills complete with vaulted ceilings and ozone pool.

Giving her fans another dose of her soulful vocals, JoJo has debuted her highly-anticipated new single "Disaster."

The 20-year-old singer says the tune, the first track from her forthcoming album "Jumping Trains," is "in the family" of her breakout hit "Too Little Too Late," but notes that the song a very "distant, edgier cousin" when talking to The Grape Juice.

While her latest musical offering is set for a September 6 release on iTunes and other digital retailers, there is yet another exciting career venture the "Leave (Get Out)" songstress will be kicking off that day - a 19-city North American tour with Joe Jonas and Jay Sean.

The concert series will commence in JoJo's hometown of Boston before hitting various other venues including scheduled stops at the Wiltern in Los Angeles and the House of Blues Chicago.

She certainly knows how to make an entrance, and Beyonce Knowles had all eyes on her at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards tonight (August 28).

The “Crazy in Love” songstress brought her fashion A-game as she posed inside the Nokia Theatre LA Live to prepare for her big performance, but the BIG news is the confirmation that she's expecting her first child with Jay-Z!

Quite the exciting time for Beyonce, the gorgeous singer's baby news comes shortly after she released her music video for “1+1” from her latest album 4.

Additionally, coming up on October 8th, Knowles will join in via satellite for the Michael Jackson tribute concert at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

Having made their love for one another official on Saturday (August 27), Sofia Coppola and Thomas Mars' wedding day pictures offer a glimpse of the newlyweds partaking in their cherishing moment.

The couple tied the knot at the historic Palazzo Margherita in Bernalda, Italy, with the "Lost In Translation" director looking stunning in a lavender Azzedine Alaia gown while being walked down the aisle by her famous father, Francis Ford Coppola.

As for the ceremony, it was officiated by Bernalda's mayor, Leonardo Chiruzzi, who told press after the festivities, "Everything went well. It was simple, calm, in the garden."

Just one day prior to exchanging vows, Sofia and Thomas were all about relaxation - as they spent the afternoon lounging on the sandy Italian beaches with their darling daughters, Romy, 4½, and Cosima, 15 months.

Making the most of her time in Italy, Bar Refaeli was spotted sunning herself in a stunning blue bikini yesterday afternoon (August 28).

The Israeli supermodel pranced around the Kauris III luxury yacht off the coast of Portofino while eager paparazzi snapped up pictures.

Bar bathed in the sea and played volleyball along with some friends who had come along for the ride (and the view!).

During her Mediterranean tour, Ms. Refaeli has been keeping her Twitter followers up-to-date on her festivities, including “belly dancing in Greece or at least trying to.”

She's one of the many east coasters dealing with the effects of Hurricane Irene, and Bethenny Frankel seemingly let the major storm system get the best of her.

Unable to sleep through the nasty conditions, the Skinnygirl mogul began her Twitter tear at 3AM by writing, "I can't sleep. So nervous. The wind is so loud outside.what's the update?tv will wake everyone."

An hour later, Miss Frankel disregarded her sleeping husband and baby, as she continued, "I can't believe how scary this is.now watching the news with my jaw dropped.more&more evacuations&more state of emergencies. Brace yourselves NEW YORK.Irene is on her way now."

The "Bethenny Ever After" star's anxiety reached its peak at around 7:30AM, as she tweeted, "We just lost electricity.this b**ch is coming.jason is oblivious.3 naps yesterday, slept all night,no prep.hurricane bethenny also here."

In the following hours, Bethenny posted a series of photos including one of herself looking quite unkempt along with numerous shots from her home and neighborhood, with her latest message reading, "I wanted to wash&dry my hair yesterday &jason thought I was nuts.now the new hairstyle is hurricane bethenny.jen aniston is so jealous."

Along with Frankel, numerous fellow celebs were active on Twitter while sending well-wishes and personal experiences via Twitter. A few of the many postings are as follows:

Ivanka Trump Majors wind and big waves in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. How are you faring through #Irene? Be safe! #hurricane

Nick Jonas So much hype about #Irene will be interesting to see this all plays out. Everyone stay safe.

Kourtney Kardashian More powerful prayers for the east coast. Don't forget how powerful prayer can be!

Adam Lambert East coasters: stay safe and smart while this storm rolls in. :) in my thoughts.

Sunday night she won the Video of the Year Award for her hit song “Firework,” and Katy Perry says she loves the MTV Video Music Awards.

The “Hot N Cold” songstress told press she’s intrigued by the show each year because of its sheer unpredictability.

Katy explained, "Anything can happen during the VMAs. It's definitely just the funnest awards show of the whole gamut, of all the awards shows.”

She continued, “The VMAs are like a f---ing monkey out of hell awards show. You just want to watch a spectacle, you want to watch what goes down and I think so many different sparks fly creatively."

Nicki Minaj & Rihanna's "Fly" Video Debut

The music industry is still mourning the death of Amy Winehouse, and last night (August 28) the late “Rehab” songstress received a fabulous tribute at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Winehouse’s close friend Russell Brandshared some sweet words with the folks at the Nokia Theatre LA Live, as well as viewers from all over the world.

"She was a mate of mine and tragically this year we lost her. First time I met her, she was kind of like a daft, dopey person, just wandering around a little bit crazy, like a lot of people who are drawn to big cities with a peculiar, unknowable talent."

Brand also noted that when he saw her sing, he was floored. "This is not just another London chancer, not just another person milling about waiting to be famous. What is this incredible sound? This timeless sound like a roar from the guts of humanity? The kind of voice that Billie Holiday sung with, the kind of voice that Ella Fitzgerald sung with."

Meanwhile, Bruno Mars took the stage with his impressive band for a rendition of Amy’s cover of “Valerie.”

And at the end, he got the crowd singing, "Say Amy, oh Amy/ I love you darling, I love you darling/ Say Amy, whoa Amy, we'll miss you baby."

They’re both huge names in the entertainment business, and last night (August 28) Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears were in attendance at the House of Hype VMA Awards after party.

The “Toxic” mommy and the “Zoey 101” star both hired babysitters in favor of getting in some sisterly bonding at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.

And it sounds like it was quite a shindig- Katy Perry was honored for her awesomeness during the course of the night.

Additionally, Jamie Foxx gave a special performance, and stars like Akon, Malin Ackerman, Rose McGowan, and Emma Roberts all showed up.

Kicking off his week with a morning workout, Alexander Skarsgard was spotted leaving a gym in NYC today (August 29).

The “True Blood” hunk looked focused as he strolled around SoHo listening to his earbuds and carrying his gym bag.

And though NYC Mayor Bloomberg suggested New Yorkers head for higher ground in light of the incoming Hurricane Irene, Alex opted to just stay put.

When asked if he was planning on evacuating, Skarsgard replied, “No. I’ve got some wine as well. That’s all you need, right?”

Giving in to her penchant for purchases, Taylor Swift was spotted shopping at a flea market in West Hollywood yesterday (August 28).

The “Should’ve Said No” songstress said yes to an antique mirror she found at the Melrose Avenue locale and proudly carried it back to her car.

Later on in the evening, Taylor was giving a concert at the Staples Center when she got a very special guest to join her onstage - Nicki Minaj.

Miss Minaj celebrated her MTV Video Music Awards win from earlier in the night by performing “Super Bass” as part of Swift’s set.

Taken into custody after an alleged weekend (August 27) altercation, Matthew Fox is accused of punching a woman in her "chest and stomach area" while out on the town in Cleveland, Ohio.

According to reports, the "Lost" actor made an attempt to board a party bus, of which he wasn't a guest, as a way to get back to his downtown hotel.

When he was refused entry, Matthew reportedly got physical, striking female bus driver Heather Bormann in the "crotch and breast," according to TMZ.

During her interview with the website, Heather said she was forced to hit the actor, as she needed to defend herself, "He just kept staring at me with his mouth wide open and not saying anything. I told him, 'You have to leave buddy. You are trespassing on my bus.'"

After Fox allegedly made the first punch, Miss Borman retaliated, as she explained, "I took one hand to his jaw and he was spitting blood. He stumbled backwards."

She added, "This was my self-defense. This was the only way I could protect myself…..from a man beating up on a woman."

It was one of the music industry’s biggest nights, and Jessie J wasn’t about to let her foot injury keep her home from the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

The British songstress broke her foot when she fell off of a stage almost 3 months ago, so she had to get creative for her appearance on the big show.

She told the audience, “I got the offer to come here and I thought, 'You know what, I'm not gonna sit at home feeling sorry for myself.’”

Prior to her arrival in the US, Jessie told press, “I’ve watched the VMAs every single year and always wished I could be there. So I’m going to be singing a lot and people seeing me and every single person I’ve ever looked up to in the music industry is going to be in the same room at once. Broken foot or not, I’m still going to wild out and do my thing.”

With rehearsals kicking off over the weekend, Elisabetta Canalis and Kristin Cavallari both showed up to begin practicing for the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars" (August 28).

George Clooney's ex looked super sexy in a black sports bra and leggings as she hopped in her car after an intense rehearsal.

Meanwhile, the “Hills” babe looked fit and fine in a gray t-shirt and black pants as she made her way into the studio for her dance session.

The entire cast partaking in Season 13 of “DWTS” will be announced tonight by Tom Burgeron and Brooke Burke during “Bachelor Pad” on ABC.

Stepping out to celebrate her 29th birthday, LeAnn Rimes was joined by husband Eddie Cibrian at Nobu restaurant in Malibu, CA last night (August 28).

The “Crazy Women” singer and her “Playboy Club” hubby looked as happy as can be as they held each other tightly while making their way inside the celeb-favorite eatery.

An appreciative LeAnn took to Twitter to thank her fans, friends and family, as she wrote, “Thank you ALL for your bday wishes! I’m overwhelmed! Big hugs to you all!”

Over the weekend, Rimes and Cibrian treated his sons, Jake and Mason, to a day at the beach.

She certainly knows how to make an entrance, and Beyonce Knowles had all eyes on her at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards tonight (August 28).

It was an evening of fabulous performances, memorable moments, and tons of trophies, and the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards also included a killer debut video from Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.

The “Pink Friday” rapper and the “Russian Roulette” songstress joined forces for the brand-spanking-new “Fly” music video, and it’s quite the wild ride.

According to MTV, “The video plays out like some post-apocalyptic fashion magazine photo shoot in which Nicki Minaj and Rihanna stand near a plane wreck in couture outfits, mugging for the camera.”

“Fly” was actually filmed way back in January and was directed by Nicki’s “Super Bass” helmsman Sanaa Hamri.

With so many celebrities in the same place at the same time, there are bound to be a few ex-lover run-ins, and Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas reunited at last night’s (August 28) MTV Video Music Awards.

The “Camp Rock” co-stars bumped into each other backstage at the Nokia Theater and, if there were any hard feelings, it didn’t show.

With cameras and press surrounding them, Demi and Joe happily stood next to each other and posed for several pictures.

At the time of their breakup back in May 2010, Jonas released this statement reading: "It was my choice to breakup, but I love her as a friend. She's been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her."

Heading home after debuting his latest directorial piece, Shia LaBeouf and girlfriend Karolyn Pho were spotted leaving the Silent Movie Theater in Los Angeles, California after last night's (August 28) premiere of "Born Villain."

Making his appearance in full scruff, the "Transformers" fellow donned a blue blazer, red tie and vintage washed jeans to the event while his gorgeous lady friend paired a sleeveless black top with an elegant, flowing red full-length skirt.

The outing follows a reportedly tense evening at the L.A. opening of The Box nightclub on Friday, where sources say Shia and a pal of Marilyn Manson - who stars in "Born Villain" - got into a verbal altercation.

According to the New York Post, Mr. LaBeouf “exchanged tense words with a friend of Manson’s, who lunged over the table at Shia, and Shia lunged back. Security stepped in quickly and broke it up before any punches were thrown."

The publication then went on to say the 25-year-old had to be escorted out of the establishment by two security guards, however, his rep denies the claim.

The former Disney star's camp told the paper that he “actually left the club early as planned… exiting through a crowded room was apparently misinterpreted. No altercation occurred."

She never does anything halfway, and Lady Gaga went all out to fully assume her male alter ego of Jo Calderone for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

The “Born This Way” songstress reportedly used only Mens’ restrooms for the day in order to make the transformation as authentic as possible.

During her performance, Gaga declared, "She left me! She said it always starts out good and then the guys -- meaning me, I'm one of the guys -- we get crazy. I did. I got crazy. But she's f---ing crazy too, right?"

However, not everyone loved Lady Gaga as a dude. Edward Paige, a music and television producer, told FOX News, “Gaga's shtick wore out its welcome in the first two minutes. In her effort to be original and run away from the cube hat wearing copycats, like Katy Perry, I think she might have pushed the audience too far. People originally embraced Gaga because in all her quirkiness was authentic in that she didn't fit in. But stepping outside the more comfortable vixen role could hurt her. Does MTV or its throngs of little girls’ fans want a diva that looks like Ralph Macchio doing a Lenny Bruce routine? I doubt it.”

She’s been enjoying her newlywed moments with husband Kris Humphries, and on Saturday (August 27) Kim Kardashian was spotted returning from her honeymoon to see her family.

The “Disaster Movie” babe hung out with her sisters Khloe, Kourtney, and Kylie, as well as Scott and Mason Disick in Calabasas, California.

The “Disaster Movie” babe hung out with her sisters Khloe, Kourtney, and Kylie, as well as Scott and Mason Disick in Calabasas, California.

She’s never one to be left out, and last night (August 28) Ashley Tisdale was in the house for the Candie’s MTV Video Music Awards afterparty.

The “High School Musical” actress showed off her fabulous figure in a slim-fitting black and floral dress with gladiator-style heels as she posed on the red carpet outside the Colony in Hollywood.

Earlier in the evening, Ashley let all her Twitter followers know how pumped she was for the big post-awards shindig.

Tizzie tweeted, “Can't wait for the Candies after party hosted by my girl!!” as she was getting all gussied up.

Making the most of her time in Italy, Bar Refaeli was spotted sunning herself in a stunning blue bikini yesterday afternoon (August 28).

Kicking off the week with a trip to the movies, Brad Pitt was spotted at a cinema in Richmond, London, England today (August 29).

The “Fight Club” stud looked to have his hands full as his kids Pax, Shiloh, Zahara, Vivienne, Knox, and Maddox all came along for the ride.

As for his current project “World War Z,” it seems Brad played the part of hero to an extra who fell during production last week.

An insider told press, “It was total chaos as 700 extras were trying to get down the street – they were banging into moving cars, cameras and military who were carrying heavy machine guns. Lots of people hurt themselves, and Brad came to the rescue of a woman who slipped.”

“I don’t think she could believe it when Brad picked her up. He didn’t have time to speak to her as it was mid-shoot. But she said afterward how grateful she was, despite having a badly-grazed knee.”

Putting those pesky divorce rumors to rest once and for all, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were spotted side-by-side while out in Malibu, CA on Wednesday (August 24).

With the paparazzi on them like glue, the happy couple grabbed brunch at Bob Morris' Beach Cafe before shopping at the Malibu Colony Company.

Rumors of a break up sparked when In Touch released a story full of silly details claiming that Jada and Marc Anthony (JLo’s ex) were sneaking around.

However, reps for both Anthony and Pinkett Smith deny that there’s any illicit romance between them, with her spokesperson telling press, “Everything about Jada and Marc Anthony is false.”

Treating fans to superstar surprise, Justin Bieber dropped by Taylor Swift's sold out Los Angeles show at Staples Center last night (August 23).

Quickly catching the audience's attention, the 21-year-old songstress asked, "Who wants to see m friend Justin?." That's when the "Never Say Never" crooner suddenly emerged onstage, inciting a full-blown frenzy as he and Taylor belted out a special duet of his hit "Baby."

Making good on his word, Justin hinted towards an appearance when he tweeted a message to the "Mean" singer recently, writing, “Heard you sang BABY at your concert in TO. thank u for the love… might have to come by and stop in on a show."

Noting the crazy excitement of the crowd, Swift took to her twitter to dish about Tuesday night's concert, as she wrote, “You think you’ve heard LOUD screaming in your life. Then @justinbieber comes out and does a surprise song during your show.”

Continuing along with their short and sweet honeymoon, Kim Kardashian joined new husband Kris Humphries for their first romantic dinner away from their hotel in Naples, Italy on Thursday night (August 25).

While the E! babe was dolled up in a lovely dress, her NBA player hubby chose to dress down in shorts and a baseball hat as the newlyweds ate the the famous Eolo restaurant in the downtown area.

Once finished with their delectable meals, the couple leisurely walked the city streets before catching a lift back to their luxury hotel.

Meanwhile, the European getaway will soon be drawing to an end - as Kim is set to head to New York to begin filming season two of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York" while also scheduled to appear at Sunday night's (August 28) MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.

Planning to jet off for a much lengthier (and tropical) honeymoon at a future date, Kim told People magazine, “We want to take our big honeymoon later."

As they ready to debut season three of their hit show “Glee,” the cast can be seen in a brand sneak speak video titled, “Dodgeball.”

The main characters from the Emmy winning FOX comedy released the video last night (August 24) in anticipation of the September 20th premiere.

As always, the talented cast has viewers captivated with Sue Sylvester back to her old ways while “We Got the Beat” blares in the background.

Earlier in the week, the cast’s brand new music video for Fashion’s Night Out - which takes place on September 8th - was released.

Having been rumored to be an item since late June, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield offered a little confirmation to the claims during a rare non-work related sighting in Malibu, CA on Thursday night (August 25).

The "Amazing Spider-Man" co-stars kept their distance and made sure not to give awaiting photogs any PDA-filled shots as they exited Nobu restaurant following an evening sushi dinner date.

Word of the new off-screen romance was first reported by Us Weekly, as their source told at the time, "They got close during filming and have been hooking up. They haven't gone public, but he's told his friends."

The sighting comes just a day after comedic actor Jim Carrey posted a strange video on his TruLife website to declare his love for Miss Stone.

In the Carrey clip, the "Ace Ventura" star began by saying, “I just wanted to let you know that I think you’re all the way beautiful. If I were a lot younger, I would marry you, and we would have chubby little freckle-faced kids.”

Carrey then confessed he’s too old for Stone, noting his wrinkled forehead, a bit of grey in his beard, and the fact that it “takes him a little longer to pee than it used to.”

She’s no stranger to accolades, and last night (August 28) Katy Perry was given the Video of the Year Award at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

The “Hot N Cold” songstress was thrilled to hear her name called as her video for “Firework” nabbed the top honors.

She declared, "Oh my goodness! Thank you so much. This has been a night of firsts. This is my second Moonman. I'm very proud of the song it stands for, which is 'Firework.' I feel like I am doing something right when I sing that song. So thanks to everyone who helped to create it."

Katy concluded, "To all of y'all out there! Thank you so much! To all my fans! And last but not least, my husband!"
