Mariah Carey: Parisian Fan Favorite

 


With the ever-increasing influence of American popular culture on the rest of the world, it’s no wonder there are so many celebrities jet-setting around the globe. And Mariah Carey landed in Paris, France this past weekend to spread some love and promote her new album.

The “Always Be My Baby” singer did her usual hamming it up for the cameras outside the Four Seasons George V, wearing a sexy black dress, high heels, and a pink patent leather half-jacket.

Here in the States, Carey is on pace to rack up her 18th #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Charts this week. “Touch My Body” was at #15 last week, and will most likely get bumped into the Top 10 when it is released for digital download tomorrow.

Once she garners her 18th #1 hit, Mariah will be tied with Elvis Presley for the second most #1s of all time. Of course, the Beatles still hold on to the top spot with a total of 20 chart toppers.

Mariah Carey Talks “Precious” Role

 


She’s usually looking top-notch, with designer duds and hair and makeup artists at her disposal, but Mariah Carey had to forgo all of that for her role in the new drama “Precious.”

In the flick, the “Always Be My Baby” songstress plays an 80s-era hard knock social worker, and she has the run-down look to go with the part.

Of her less-than-attractive appearance in the film, Mariah told press, “It wasn’t just de-glamorized. They added some hideousness on top of that too. I drank some ugly juice.”

Costar Gabourey Sidibe told press, "She hated her wardrobe! It was the funniest thing. Like the first day of school or something, where you're not wearing the right socks and the whole outfit's ruined."
