Box Office: "Breaking Dawn" Dominates the Competition

Jumping out to a commanding lead as was expected, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" took charge of first place at the box office over the weekend of November 18-20, 2011.

The Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner starring vampire picture snatched up a dominant $73.5 million on opening day while pacing towards an expected $139 million debut weekend.

Settling for the runner-up slot is another cinema newcomer, with the family animated tale "Happy Feet Two" scoring $6 million on Friday to put it on track for a $22.5 million opening weekend take.

Rounding out the top five at the box office in estimated weekend totals were the Henry Cavill/Freida Pinto fronted warrior movie "Immortals" ($13 million), followed by Adam Sandler and Katie Holmes' "Jack and Jill" ($13 million) and "Puss In Boots" ($12 million).
