U2 & Taylor Swift Post Top Numbers for 2011 American Tours

It doesn’t really come as a surprise that the top two touring acts of the past year are Irish rockers U2 and country crooner Taylor Swift.

The “Beautiful Day” hitmakers played 25 shows in 21 North American cities to rake in a whopping $156 million total.

Meanwhile, Miss Swift performed 80 dates on her Speak Now Tour, hitting 59 cities and earning $97.7 million for her efforts.

Rounding out the top five were Kenny Chesney at $84.6 million, Lady Gaga at $63.7 million, and Bon Jovi at $57.1 million.
