He's long been known for his political activism, and today (March 16) George Clooney's latest protest landed him in handcuffs at the Sudanese embassy in Washington, D.C.

The ""Descendants" actor was taken into police custody alongside his journalist father Nick Clooney, as well as Martin Luther King III, NAACP President Ben Jealous, Rep. Jim McGovern, Rep. Jim Moran and former Rep. Tom Andrews.

Prior to his arrest, Clooney spoke out against the country's treatment towards it's people, telling the crowd, "the (Sudanese) government in Khartoum to stop randomly killing its own innocent men, women and children. Stop raping them, and stop starving them."

After being asked to move from the private property three times, George and the other protesters were cuffed and taken away by police escort.
